Accessibility

As far as possible we have worked to the accessibility guidelines set out by the W3C WCAG in the construction of this site, but should you have any problems accessing content in this site please contact us and we will assist you in finding the information you need.

Making Text Larger

The way this site is constructed allows you to change the size of text in our pages. The BBC has a guide providing instructions on how to change the size of text in a wide range of browsers.

Access Keys

This site makes use of “access keys”, following the UK Government Access Keys Standard. These keyboard shortcuts can make it easier to navigate the site. The BBC has a detailed guide for most browsers. In general PC users should press ALT + one of the following numbers, Mac users should press CTRL + the relevant number:

  • 1 - Home Page
  • 3 - Site Map
  • 9 - Contacts Page
  • 0 - This accessibility page

NB Internet Explorer for Windows users: shortcuts to links will take you to a link but you will then need to press the Enter key to activate the link.
NB Firefox 2 users: you will need to press ALT + SHIFT + number.

PDF Files

We provide some guides in PDF format. To view PDF files you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader for Windows. Both programs are free.
